Bridges Out of Poverty: Strategies for Professionals and Communities - Moss Point 2018
Poverty impedes economic development of households, firms, and communities across Mississippi. People who have not come from generational poverty are often not able to understand decisions made by individuals in poverty, limiting the effectiveness of programs and policies. This workshop is for employers, community organizations, social service agencies, and individuals interested in understanding poverty in order to improve outcomes. Participants will leave with a better understanding of hidden rules of class, resources, family structure, and language in order to develop effective local strategies for alleviating poverty in communities and improving workplace stability.
