The 2020 Pecan Education Workshop will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2020, at the North Mississippi Research and Extension Center in Verona, Mississippi. The workshop will consist of a morning Horticulture Session and an afternoon Pest Management Session (see agenda). The aim of this workshop is to provide valuable information for commercial pecan growers of all levels, but particularly for beginners. The program will begin at 8:30 AM and will end at 4:30 PM. Registration will begin at 8:00 AM. Lunch will be provided.
  
Registration and payment of the $35.00 (per person) regular registration fee must be completed by Thursday, March 5, 2020, to reserve a spot in this workshop.  After March 5, 2020, anyone interested in attending the workshop must contact Dr. Rebecca A. Melanson (contact information below) to determine availability of space. The registration fee will cover the cost of lunch and refreshments as well as some of the supplies/handouts provided during the workshop.

The 2020 Pecan Education Workshop has been approved by the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce Bureau of Plant Industry (MDAC BPI) for consultant license renewal for categories E (Entomology – Orchard and Nut Tree) and I (Plant Pathology – Orchard and Nut Tree). The workshop has also been approved by MDAC BPI for commercial recertification for categories I(A) (Agricultural Pest Control – Plant) and X (Demonstration and Research Pest Control). Only certificates expiring within 12 months with be reissued.

 This workshop is also being offered for in-service training for MSU Extension agents. Agents who have completed the workshop registration who want to receive in-service training credit must also complete the in-service training registration.
